Re a Leboga

Just recovering from Heritage day, What a day. Got to be with friends and celebrate in style Ubuntu(Humanity) way. Realeboga botlhe ba ba itumeletseng leno letsatsi le rona, mme ka lemoga sengwe: Bana ba kgwale ba bitsana ka melodi.

Our former and current Deputy President Kgalema Motlante addressed the people in Limpopo and declared the theme for this year's Heritage day as "Celebrating South African Craft, Our Heritage" and finally qouted one of Don Mattera's poem:

"Afrika, Afrique
Beautiful mother, beloved Continent,
This is your time, your moment, your century
Etched on the golden scroll of history
Afrika, this is your time,
Your century, your right
Afrikaans arises, unite!
You are the architects of your fate
The victims of self-hate;
Bring enlightment, renewal and dignity
No more "sorrow songs' but anthems of victory
Astound, confound with unconquerable might,"

This will surely remind us that, as we celebrate all our achievements in human activities, let us do so knowing that craft, as art, it is basically for human history and it is precious as the air we breathe.

Well to Trev. thanks again about the tips on how to blog

Chilla nathi !!

Tomorrow it is my favourite holiday and i advice that we celebrate it in style. check the new look Dumelang Batswana

Enjoy Heritage Day

"Within a broader social and political context, the day's events…are a powerful agent for promulgating a South African identity, fostering reconciliation and promoting the notion that variety is a national asset as opposed to igniting conflict.

"Heritage has defined as "that which we inherit: the sum total of wild life and scenic parks, sites of scientific or historical importance, national monuments, historic buildings, works of art, literature and music, oral traditions and museum collections together with their documentation."

(former) President Mandela once stated:

"When our first democratically-elected government decided to make Heritage Day one of our national days, we did so because we knew that our rich and varied cultural heritage has a profound power to help build our new nation.

We did so knowing that the struggles against the injustice and inequities of the past are part of our national identity; they are part of our culture. We knew that, if indeed our nation has to rise like the proverbial phoenix from the ashes of division and conflict, we had to acknowledge those whose selfless efforts and talents were dedicated to this goal of non-racial democracy."

This is powerful coming from one of the oppressed, these icon had suffered and ready to build the new rainbow nation.

Tatso ya Setswana "Great taste of Setswana"

in the beginning i promised to involve idioms and proverbs to embrace my love and understanding of our very own Language, since it is heritage month and I'm proud to have a solid background based on my roots.

check this"phudufudu e e thamo telele, ebatwa ke molamu o sa e lebana" and " Nonyane e e mephuphutho mebe e iphatlha ka diphuka e le tsa yona" or anyway i was just simply saying "be careful not to jump into other people's business without their concern or you might suffer the consequences" .

This i've learned over and over and people in Jozi believe this it is just a myth, but tell u what my brothers and sisters this is real. ask for tip or advice so that you may not jump before the gun.

Molaya kgosi o a bo a itaela!!

Hmmmmm howz that for the lingo !!!!!!!!

And life goes on.........................

Wow after such a busy weekend, well my soul feel at peace, i had tascle with my heart concerning crossing the boundaries, i had this belief that i won't participate in any goodwill activity as long it is not for my community. After deciding to go to Doulos, this became an eye opener that the are many people out there that needs our love and care. well if you can't be with the one's you love, love the one you with.

kids at doulos have touched my heart,

well the question that i had in mind after saturday is this

why we normally became so ignorant to care for the needy?
The kids at Doulos do they understand that one day their names will be written on the memory stone?, but i was reminded that this can happen to anyone.
although we are not infected, we are all affected by HIV/AIDS

but all in all good experience to be with them.
